Currently, I work at Calgary Technologies (CTI), a non-profit startup incubator. As a Senior Advisor Advisor, I consult and educate early-phase technology startups on topics such as customer discovery, product validation, market strategy, and fundraising. In addition, I founded and oversaw the TELUS Technology Accelerator, a joint initiative between TELUS and CTI to support and grow Canadian startups working in health-tech, big data, and telecom sectors.
My career began over 13 years ago when I joined Shell as a Project Manager, implementing leading-edge cloud and mobile IT systems to serve Shell’s global mining, refining, retail, and geology divisions. During my time with Shell, I planned and executed over 25 technology projects that reduced operational costs and made daily work safer and easier.
In 2013, I graduated from the University of Calgary with an MBA from the Haskayne School of Business, specializing in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Computer Science, from the University of Regina.
I live in Calgary, Alberta with my wife Kelly and daughter Brooklyn. I am a PADI-certified Adventure Diver and learning to build furniture with traditional hand tools. For the past 10 years, my family and I have brewed our own beer and wine, to mostly successful results.
